Dressing up in costumes and going from door-to-door trick-or-treating is the modern version of Halloween in the United States, adapted from the Irish and Scottish traditions of guising. Choosing a costume can often be a difficult chore. Whether it is bought from a shop or homemade there are some points that should be kept in mind when wearing a costume. Considering that you may be wearing it for more than a couple of hours, the costume should be comfortable. Any ordinary outfit can become a great costume with a few extra accessories. Add lace, ribbons, buttons and glitter, and give your costume that extra touch. Leftover scraps of fabric, beads and feathers can be used as trim and create a one of a kind outfit.
