Mlm, Building Your Downline

As a marketer I’m am frequently asked “How do I build my downline fast and with good people?” That is a question that many Network Marketers and Multi-level Marketers have and the biggest stumbling block to their success. There are several ways to build a downline, I will go through the following one by one.
1. Talk to every breathing person you come into contact with 2. Leave cards and flyers everywhere you go 3. Advertise in the newspaper 4. Buy Leads 5. Join the Funded Sponsoring Franchise Talk To Every Person You Meet Most people I talk to about their MLM or NWM business are trying to make a better life for themselves. Save time and spend it with their families. Now telling everyone you know about your business is great but, most don’t care or they “hate MLMs” or “All of those programs are scams”. Sound familiar? If I could save all the 3-5 minute conversations I had with people who don’t care about my business opportunity I could go on a vacation with my family. Let’s face it who likes telling the check out clerk at the grocery store about your business anyway? I know I don’t like to talk to everybody and I’m sure you don’t either.
Leave Cards and Flyers This is another way to promote, but is it realistic? How many people have you added to your downline through leaving cards and flyers? It doesn’t look professional to have a piece of paper up on a cork board at the gas station. Do you think you will find qualified leads this way? I don’t. If I was going to look for a home business opportunity I wouldn’t be looking at flyers.
Advertise In the Newspaper This can be a very effective way to generate leads. The problem is that it is very expensive and you must get the people who call interested in your product or service and have a good phone script to make the close. This combined with another system I will talk about later can work very well.
Buying Leads How many of you have bought leads before? Did you get a good response? Probably not. The information has been sold over and over and the prospects aren’t interested. They went with another program, or they changed their phone numbers. It’s hard to get really fresh leads this way and there’s no guarantee that the “fresh” leads you bought are really “fresh”. Who wants to be pounding the phones all day anyway? Remember you want more time with the family.
