Window blinds or curtains, what is the best choice? Actually it is up to you and your personal preferences. In most cases it depends on what you are looking to do and which is more aesthetically pleasing. There is a wide variety of blinds that are out there that they can be very versatile and economical. You can make a room look very plain or you can completely change the theme and feeling of the room based on the window treatment that you provide for it. In many cases where the environment is one that is meant to be more productive and not distracting then traditional white blinds of almost any type will suffice. However if you are doing home design then you will want to consider more of a curtain route as it will allow for more freedom in design and selection for your pleasure. It is however more costly to be going the route of curtains as they tend to be more pricey. There is however the always conventional world of combinations to help lighten and design a room. Who says that you cannot have the best of both worlds in regards to using both blinds and curtains or valences together? It can be very enriching to have a Venetian blind that is accompanied by a nice valence across the top to tie the color scheme together. Also take into consideration that many of the blinds that are available in a wide variety of colors and sizes to fit all of your needs and wants for your decorating strategies. When considering which style and type of window treatment that you are looking to install, you need to look at what it is that you will want it to do as well as determining what material and color that you will be looking for in your windows. There are vinyl, wood, aluminum and plastic options that are all available in your blind choices. Then of course you have to consider the color and whether or not you want to go with a curtain or valence or if you are looking to get something that are only functional. I mean if you are designing an office and want more productivity, then simple white blinds are the route that you want to take as they will not be distracting. Just consider and weigh all of your options in window treatments and go with what you like not what someone else tells you to go with.
