Weathervanes, Weather Vanes–unique Gifts For The Holidays!

by Jennifer Akre

No indeed, ornate weather vanes are not the easiest gifts to wrap and they certainly won’t be fitting in anyone’s stocking this holiday season! But, don’t you get tired of receiving the same old gifts year in and year out? If so, doesn’t it make sense that in order to deserve something truly unique and exciting under the tree–you have to also find a way to give an original gift as well? While weathervanes are anything but the typical holiday present, they just might be one of the greatest presents someone could receive and help set you apart from the traditional gift-giver.
One of the first things that may come to mind when thinking about buying some beautiful weather vanes this holiday season for loved ones is–how in the world are they going to place it atop the roof when it’s snowing out?? This is a very fair question but it really misses the point entirely because bicycles are traditional holiday gifts and they certainly are difficult to ride in the snow as well! While it is true that the recipient of a weathervane may have to wait until Spring before placing on their roof top or cupola, this will not diminish the value of the present or make it any less welcome to the person opening it during the holidays.
To be sure, no one expects to receive traditional weather vanes as gifts but they are very popular adornments to exterior décor. Fashioned from a wide range of materials including copper, aluminum, and even wood, weathervanes are available that will match any home design style. Plus, wind vanes are basically available in just about any shape you can imagine, including: rooster, horse, pig, fish, and even zodiac symbols. Therefore, no matter what interest the recipient has, you are sure to find some beautiful weather vanes that will perfectly complement their personality and interests.
For those of you who were thinking about giving a weather vane to a loved one but realized that they were renting their home, there is still no problem. Traditional weather vanes make perfect garden adornments so there is no need to limit their placement to the roof top. So, if you want to be the original trailblazer this holiday season and give out original gifts that your friends and loved ones will positively adore, hop online and start looking for the perfect weather vanes to match their personality and interests! Maybe, just maybe, they will take the hint and do the same for you next year!
