Home, Using A Solid Air Freshener For A Clean, Fresh Scent Anywhere

by Vincent P Platania

Everyone wants to have a fresh and clean smelling home and car. Keeping these areas smelling great, however, can be a bit tricky. This is particularly true for those that own pets or that have small children. Similarly, some homes and cars just seem to carry a stale smell that is unshakable. For these people, a solid air freshener may be the answer to their problems.

What is a “Solid Air Freshener?’ A solid air freshener is different from an aerosol air freshener in that nothing is sprayed into the air. Rather, the solid chunk of scented freshener is allowed to remain in its solid form and the lid is opened in order to allow the scent to escape into the air. It is similar to a scented candle, only it does not need to be burned in order to release the smell.

High quality solid air fresheners are also capable of absorbing odors as they emit their clean and fresh scent. That way, the undesirable odor is removed from the air rather than being simply masked by the scent of the air freshener. This is an important quality because failure to remove the odor means that it will continue to linger long after the scent of the air freshener is gone. Leaving the scent in the air would be like putting on perfume without taking a shower — the underlying smell and grime would still be there.

Where Can Solid Air Fresheners be Used? Solid air fresheners can be used in the home and in the car. For those that have an RV or boat, they can also be used to help prevent a stale odor and to keep them smelling fresh and clean. Similarly, they are ideal for offices where the smell of the surroundings has a tendency to infiltrate the space. Many business owners, particularly restaurant owners, also use solid air fresheners in order to remove smells from the air and to create a more pleasant environment for their customers.

How is a Solid Air Freshener Used? Using a solid air freshener is quite simple. In fact, with quality products, it is only necessary to unscrew the lid in order to remove the protective seal. Then, the lid is replaced and the air holes on top of the lid are opened in order to allow the fresh scent out and to draw the bad odor in.

After the lid is properly prepared, the air freshener is then placed in the area containing the odor. If the odor is particularly strong, the lid can be kept entirely off. Or, for the maximum amount of efficiency, it can be removed completely and placed on top of the lid. All three methods are an effective means for keeping an area smelling great.
