So, Just what is Affiliate Marketing? Compensation may be made based on a certain value for each visit (Pay per click), registrant (Pay per lead), or a commission for each customer or sale (Pay per sale), or any combination.” Basically, If I am an affiliate and I direct a lead to a business and that lead turns into a sale, then I (the affiliate) get paid a commission. Businesses with affiliate programs are primarily selling goods that can be delivered directly over the internet. Much of this is Information and services. Now days Music (MP3's) can also sold via Affiliate Marketing. Yup, People are spending and making a fortune because we want to know how to: Loose weight, Buy a Car, Get a Free Car, Speak Spanish, Improve my Golf Swing, and Make Money. You may be an individual looking for a home business or a way to make money on the internet or a work at home opportunity. There are ways to do that, but here is another Real Truth. If you expect to be sitting on a beach drinking a pina colada while some get rich quick program spits money from your CD ROM, you are sadly mistaken. Affiliate Marketing is a real business. There are sole proprietors making lots and lots of money with Affiliate Marketing. There are large corporations making money on the internet and there are medium size companies who do nothing but internet marketing and ecommerce. They all have one thing in common. They work for their money and they work hard.
So why become an affiliate? Simple, You can work at home, make a lot of money if you work hard, and more importantly, if you work smart. You can market and make a profit on products with out having to worry about providing those products. In fact you don't have to worry about any of the overhead that is part of a typical business. No manufacturing, no warehousing and inventory, no store front, no employees and so on. You get the idea. It's like having your own little internet store where you can sell everyone else's products. The trick is getting customers to visit your store (Traffic) and then getting them to buy (conversion). Traffic and Conversion. More on that later.
Affiliate Programs and Products A program teaches you how to get started in Affiliate Marketing. There are lots of good Programs to help you get started. Inside Affiliate Marketing is a Free Program. I am offering this Free in order to build credibility and built traffic to this web site. This Program will not be free forever. Gather as much as information as you can now and please pass it on. There is also a lot of Junk out there. Lets be upfront; another Real Truth. Some of the content, even in the better programs will lead you to believe that they can teach you how to grow a money tree in your backyard. They will have you convinced that they have the answer to almost instant wealth through simple online ads and paid surveys. Here we go again with another Real Truth. There are no money trees and online ads can be pretty complex. Not overwhelming, but there is a lot to it. Many programs do a great job getting you off the ground and running. Here's another thing. These online ads cost you money. You are paying for traffic with these ads with no guarantee of a conversion. Remember, Traffic and Conversion. Google Adwords is the first method that most programs teach to get you started. But there are ways to get free traffic. Free being relative; the cost is lot of hard work. More on Free Traffic later.

Clickbank is one of the many companies that is used to track and pay commissions. You may wish to sign up here for a Clickbank account why you’re there. It is completely free to join. Paypal is another company that track and pays commissions.
You can purchase one of the above affiliate programs, but it is not completely necessary. Most sites have a small link (often at the bottom) for "Affiliates". Follow that link and sign up to be an Affiliate. Signing up is Free. (You will be able to sign up as an affiliate of inside Affiliate Marketing when all of the content on this site is complete.) Once you are an Affiliate you will have access to marketing material such as the graphics you see on this web site. You will also get your affiliate hoplink. What do you do with all this? Lets move on to Google AdWords.
Google AdWords is a tool that many internet marketers use.
Do a Google search for World Maps and look at the results. The standard or natural results are on the left as you might expect. In addition to this are the circled listing to the right. These are paid advertisements. Anyone can open a Google AdWords account and start placing adds in Google right away in order to generate traffic to your desired url or hoplink. When someone clicks on your add, they are directed to a web site of your choice via your hoplink and you are charge a fee, by Google, for that click. This is called pay per click advertising. You can set your maximum cost per click and bid against others for page position. The adds are targeted to specific search terms. We call these search terms Key Words. Key words are very important. They are really more like key phrases but the industry calls them Key Words. If you've heard or read something about Working from Home Typing Simple Data, this is most likely what they are talking about. A simple affiliate marketing technique is to place adds in Google and direct searchers to a sales page for a product. If a sale is made then you get a commission. Most affiliate product will provide their affiliates with a list of the most popular keywords for their product.
As mentioned previously, Google Adwords is a Huge topic.
