Health, How To Clean Your Contact Lenses

by Jeff Carlisle

If wear contact lenses, then you have probably heard many times that you have to keep them clean when wearing them. This means washing them each day so that dust, bacteria, and other debris does not get into your eye. There are two types of contact lenses, those that can be used for a few months, and those that are disposable. Disposable contact lenses are becoming more popular because they do not have to be washed. You can keep them in your eye for a certain amount of time and then you can throw them away. But for those who do not have disposable lenses, cleaning them each day is important.

When cleaning a contact lens, you will have to take them out of your eyes and washing them in a cleaning solution that you can buy in most grocery and convenience stores. Most people clean their contact lenses at night time because they do not need them when they are sleeping. Those who have traditional contact lenses should not leave them in overnight as this can cause irritation. If you have color contact lenses, you will have to wash them each day in order to prevent an eye infection.

There are many different types of contact lenses that are available. Contact lenses made from acvue, bausch & lomb, or coopervision can be ordered online once you have a prescription from a doctor. Unless you are buying color lenses, you will have to visit a doctor to see which strength of lens you will need. When you order contact lenses, you will have to specify which ones you will need. Soflens, duralens, and dailies are disposable lenses that can be ordered online.

Other lenses that can be ordered online include freshlook, focus, and ciba vision. Contact lenses that are order online will be shipped to your home in a few days after placing your order. Bifocal lenses may also be available. With your order, you will receive instructions on how to care for your lenses. You should read the instructions carefully so that you can make your lenses last longer and avoid an eye infection. Bacteria can get into your eye very easily if you do not take care of your lenses.

If you cannot remember to clean your contact lenses every day, then you should consider buying disposable lenses. These lenses may be more expensive, but they will keep your eyes healthy. If you are still having problems after buying disposable lenses, you should visit your doctor to see if there are other issues. You may be allergic to all contact lenses and you will have to wear glasses that are prescribed by your doctor. Trying different lenses can sometimes help also.
