Recipe, Frito Pie Recipe: Funtabulous Frito Pie

This is a great sitting on the couch and watching TV recipe. You’ve got two kinds of chili, onion, cheese, sour cream and of course, corn chips.

1 (15oz.) can chili, no beans 1 (15 oz.) can chili with beans 3/4 cup water 2/3 cup of corn chips 1 cup onion, chopped 3/4 pound cheddar cheese, grated 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream (optional) Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spray a 1 1/2-quart or 2-quart casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.

In a saucepan, combine both cans of chili with water; heat to boiling; stirring occasionally.

Layer 1/2 of the corn chips in the bottom of the casserole dish. Layer on half of the chili mixture. Sprinkle on a 1/2 cup of the onion and half of the grated cheese. Repeat the layers, ending with the cheese.

Bake 25 minutes, or until completely heated. Garnish with scoops of sour cream.

You’ll enjoy this taco pie recipe featuring ground beef, taco seasoning, cheese, sour cream and tortilla chips. Ole! 1 (8 oz.) package refrigerated crescent rolls 1 pound ground beef 1 (1 oz.) package taco seasoning mix 1 (16 oz.) container sour cream 8 oz. Mexican style cheese blend, shredded 1 (14.5 oz.) package tortilla chips, crushed Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Layer the crescent dough out flat on the bottom of a square cake pan and bake according to package directions.

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium high heat. Add the taco seasoning; stir well. When the dough is cooked, remove it from the oven and spoon the meat mixture on top. Layer with sour cream and cheese. Top with crushed tortilla chips.

Return to the oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Garnish with lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and guacamole.

1 1/2 pound ground beef 1 medium onion, chopped 2 cups stewed tomatoes 1 small can tomato sauce 2 cups whole kernel corn 1 cup sliced black olives 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon chili powder 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped Topping 1 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup cornmeal 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon salt 2 eggs, lightly beaten 1 cup cheese, shredded Directions In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion. Add in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, corn, olives, green pepper and seasonings. Cook for 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Pour into a well-greased 8x12-inch baking dish.

Prepare Topping: In a bowl, combine the milk, cornmeal, butter and salt; cook until mixture is nice and thick. Add in the eggs and cheese; mix well. Pour over meat mixture.

Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
