Health, Larch Arabinogalactan And Australian Bush Plum

by Zachary Thompson

Larch Arabinogalactan is produced from the wood of the larch tree; it is in fact a polysaccharide powder. It is a fine off white powder that has a mild smell of pine trees, and tastes a little sweet. It is readily soluble and can be used with juice or water. It is made up of galactose, arabinose, and a trace of glucuronic acid.
The Western Larch is a member of the pine tree family. It grows naturally in the Pacific northwest of the USA. This makes it readily available for research and manufacture of dietary supplements.
It is a source of dietary fiber and helps boost your immune system. It has many uses: Larch Arabinogalactan has been found to help protect the body against cancer and it is also a powerful anti allergy and anti-inflammatory substance.
Limited research has been done on Larch Arabinogalactan, and there are many more uses that need to be looked into. Because it is easy to take, it is very convenient for the consumer to take as a diet supplement.
Another diet supplement, which also draws from natural sources, is the Australian Bush Plum, or better known as the Black Current in Europe. These taste exceptionally good and can be used much the same manner as a regular berry. It is made into sweets and syrups like Ribena, as well as cough lozenges. It has been used for many years for cough lozenges in England and due to its vitamin C content, is given to fight colds, coughs, and sore throats.
The Australian bush plum, as its name suggests, is native to Australia and grows from 6 inches to about 2 feet in height. It grows freely through the north and central parts of Australia. The aborigines have used these fruits since ancient times. They are also cultivated in England and known as black currents.
The Australian bush plum has the largest amount of vitamin C in any other food. As such, it is good for protecting the body against free radicals, which are produced by the liver when metabolism takes place. It is now used in conjunction with Glyconutrients to make a powerful antioxidant diet supplement.
Both these natural products are used with the Glyconutrients as diet supplements. The advantage is that they have little or no side effects, because they are all natural products. As more research is done, they will become more readily available and more uses will be found. As with all diet supplements, it is always good to consult your doctor before you take them to be sure you have no underlying problems that can cause conflicts.
