Pregnancy Symptom, Teen Pregnancy - Not Always An Accident

by Stephen White

It wasn't too long ago that young adults were told by their parents that if they were going to have a baby to do it in their early 20's. Since then, our stance on childbearing has significantly changed. Women are no longer simply expected to stay home and raise a child, they have their own completely independent lives and careers, and more women go through post secondary education than men.
1. Wanted Teen Pregnancy For every case you hear on the news of unplanned pregnancy by a teen, such as when protection was not used, or was used but did not work, there are also cases of very well planned teen pregnancies. Believe it or not, some women still cling to the old fashioned role of staying at home and raising a family. Now, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Let's face it, the vast majority of the human population does want to raise their own families at some point or another. These are merely individuals that have placed an unusually high value upon having a family - as soon as possible.
In most cases of planned teen pregnancy, the girl will move in with her boyfriend, or marry him, with a view of starting a family immediately. Although society says that this is too young, it is still older than many of the generations who went before, when a mother of 13 and 14 years of age was not unheard of.
2. What To Do If Your Daughter Is Pregnant Most of the time, your daughter will not tell you that she is pregnant. At least, not right away. Younger girls are more likely to confide in their significant others about the pregnancy, although in rare cases, the girl will tell no one and raise the child on her own. Younger girls for whom the pregnancy was an accident willusually bring that baby into their existing family. This puts a stress onto the household as daughter becomes mother, and mother must step back into the grandmother role - and yet be a hands- on teacher until her child can be self sufficient with the child.
